Softbaits

Softbaits

Softbaits is actually the umbrella term for all "soft" lures. However, only certain softbaits fall in the category. So you won't find any shads here. The softbaits on this page look more like a real fish, eel or lobster, where shads only have the shape of a fish without a head. The softbaits on this page usually have one or more hooks or trebles and sometimes even a spinner, a shad doesn't have a leadhead as standard.

These softbaits are mainly used for pike fish, but the small models are also suitable for other predatory fish.

Many shapes of softbaits

Sofbaits no longer only have the shape of a simple fish. Nowadays they come in real fish from roach to perch and from trout to pike. But also frogs, lobsters or an eel are widely used models. There are even models that look like a rat or duck. Each model has its own action in or on the water.

How to fish with softbaits

The softbaits that look like fish can be used in different ways, with the action also depending on each specific model. You can take them in just like a crankbait, because the softbaits themselves can give enough action with their body or tail. That's why trolling with softbaits is also very possible. But some models are also more suitable for jigging with softbaits on the bottom.
The frogs are often used for surface fishing in summer (when the frogs are also active). The lobster and eel are mainly used for bottom fishing, wherever these animals live.
